What types of plans are available? HMOs- These plans have a network of doctors and often require you to use a primary care physician to give you a referral in order to see a specialist. PPOs- These plans offer some more flexibility for you care as they have in-network and out-of-network options and do not require referrals. If you go to an out of network doctor deductibles, copays and max out of pocket could be higher. PFFS- (Private Fee-for-Service) These plans allow you to see providers that accept the plans payment terms. No referrals are needed to see a specialist.
